The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a FREEZE WARNING which is in effect from 2 am to 10 am Monday for the entire WYMT viewing area.
High Pressure will build across the Ohio Valley today and tonight. This will provide clear skies and calm winds across Eastern Kentucky tonight and Monday morning. This will allow temperatures to plunge to the 27 to 32 degree range in the valleys for several hours overnight tonight into the early morning hours on Monday. Temperatures this low will cause a widespread freeze to occur. On the ridge tops, low temperatures are expected to drop to the mid 30's tonight and early Monday morning. This will create the potential for frost on many of the ridge tops.
A FREEZE WARNING means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Residents of Eastern Kentucky should take precautions to protect outdoor vegetation.
