Ten years ago today was the passing of a man known throughout the state of Kentucky.
Harlan native and former voice of the wildcats Cawood Ledford died on September 5th, 2001. Ledford began his radio career in Harlan at WHLN back in 1951 before becoming the voice of the cats in 1953. Cawood was inducted into the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987. He signed off the air for the final time with the Cats in 1992.
