Bell County Public Library Holding "Food For Fines"

Libraries have trouble sometimes in getting people to return those overdue books, but the Bell County Public Library is allowing people to pay their overdue fines with food!

All this month, they're accepting canned goods in exchange for money in hopes they can return books and help out local food banks just in time for the holidays.

"If they bring in a canned good they can get rid of their fine. We just thought that would help the library and help people in the community," said Pam Blank with the Middlesboro-Bell County Public Library.

Food for Fines is going on all November at both the Middlesboro and Pineville branches of the Bell County Public Library.
