It was a terrifying accident for the woman who was trapped under her car for at least fifteen minutes. Now her family says they're just glad she's alive.

The Pulaski County Sheriff says 22 year-old Miranda Wallace was driving on Kentucky 80 near Somerset when she ran out of gas. Wallace pulled her Chevy Blazer to the side of the road and got out of the vehicle while she waited for help.

Police say at that point the SUV began to roll forward and Wallace tried to stop it.

"The first reaction is to push against it but the weight of a vehicle is is too much. It'll just keep rolling through you," said Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood.

Miranda Wallace's mother Evelyn Wallace says her daughter became trapped under the car's tire as it rolled to a stop off of the road.

Wallace was trapped under the car, along Highway 80 in Pulaski County, for at least 15 minutes Thursday night until someone driving by called 911.

Emergency crews lifted the car and got Wallace out. She was then flown to UK Hospital.

Miranda's mother says her daughter's pelvis was crushed, and doctors have told her Miranda will have to undergo several surgeries. However, she says their family is thanking God she survived the accident.

Wallace is still in UK Hospital, beginning to recover from her injuries. Her mother says the first surgery is scheduled for Monday.
