Beshear pays tribute to sacrifices of veterans

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear is calling for
Kentuckians to "fully appreciate the sacrifices and commitment"
of the state's veterans.
Beshear spoke Friday at a Veterans Day ceremony in downtown
Frankfort where he paid tribute to the more than 330,000 veterans
in the state and the 12,000 soldiers now serving in Iraq and
In his remarks, Beshear also announced that a bronze plaque will
be placed in the Capitol to honor Kentucky's 59 Congressional Medal
of Honor recipients, including the newest, Dakota Myer, a former
Marine from Greensburg.
