An investigation is underway in Bell County after police say a body was found inside a burning building.
The Bell County Sheriff's Office says two deputies on routine patrol spotted the fire on Highway 66 in Roth Camp early Thursday morning.
While the fire was being put out, investigators say the body of 39-year-old Jimmy Carnes, of Arjay, was found inside the building.
The sheriff's office says it appears Carnes died of a gunshot wound.
The body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
