Volunteers from several southern states are spending the week in Pike County working to improve homes of folks in need.

More than 100 students are part of a group called "World Changers" who travel across the country to help others.

World Changers is a group that travels cross-country working to repair homes for low-income and disabled families.

There are 13 crews working at 15 different locations in Pike County this week.

Folks who have been helped by the service project say the volunteers are a blessing.

Organizers say that with each repair made, the students get a better grasp of how to put their faith into action.
