The call came in around 5:00 AM Sunday morning "9-1-1, what is your emergency? Hello? What's going on?"

The man on the other end, who police identify as 66-year-old Ralph Allyn, confessing that he just shot his girlfriend. "I just shot my baby!"

Police say that 64-year-old Barbara Martin was shot once in the head and another time in the chest. "Are you at 1995 Lower Cane Creek Road ?" asks the dispatcher. "Yes!" responds Allyn.

We're told that Allyn called 9-11 weeping, repeatedly saying he didn't know why he shot her. "I shot my girlfriend, I don't know why!"

With the home surrounded by police, the 9-11 dispatcher worked tirelessly to convince Allyn to go to the door and surrender

"There is somebody there that is wanting to help you and your girlfriend can you go to the door for me? You can go to the door everything is going to be ok but we need to get her help and we need to get you help, ok?"

Police tell us that Allyn is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.

He's expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
