Posted: Tue 11:58 PM, Oct 02, 2012

HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) - A U.S. tourist accused of stealing a painting the size of a door from a cruise ship docked in Bermuda has been fined.

Authorities said Tuesday that Kevin Hudgens of Kentucky was ordered to pay $500 after he tried to leave the Norwegian Star with an official copy of a Rembrandt painting. Defense attorney Oonagh Vaucrosson told the judge that Hudgens was on medication and that he thought he had won the painting in a raffle.

The incident occurred late last week.
