Hiker falls 40 feet off cliff in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A hiker had to be airlifted to the hospital Wednesday after emergency crews say he fell off a cliff.

It happened around 4 p.m. in the Bald Rock area of Lee County, which is off Highway 498, just north of Beattyville.

Emergency crews say a man in his 20's, who was hiking, fell off a 40 foot cliff.

Crews say it took them around an hour to reach the hiker. He was airlifted to UK Hospital.

Emergency crews did not know how bad his injuries were as of Wednesday night.
