18th Annual Osborne Brothers Hometown Festival kicks off

HYDEN, Ky (WYMT) - The 18th Annual Osborne Brothers Hometown Festival is underway in Leslie County.

The event features big name bluegrass bands and is expected to attract about 4,000 people.

Festival goers say they enjoy coming because the event is a melting pot of music lovers.

“You meet people here and it’s like they're your family. They come from California, Florida...one year we had them over hear from Sweden. It's just the connection and the bond you make with people here,” Rick Flowers said.

The festival runs through Saturday night.

All proceeds benefit the volunteer firefighters of Leslie County.
