VINE GROVE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police say a 2-year-old boy has died of injuries he suffered when he climbed into the back of a minivan, fell out and was hit by the vehicle.
Police said Thursday the child, Brendyn Keisler, was hit Tuesday night at a residence in Meade County. Police say 31-year-old Joseph Allison backed the van up to the residence to unload household items and didn't realize the boy had climbed into the back hatch entrance.
Police said Allison continued to back up and the boy fell out of the back and was run over by the vehicle.
A statement from police said Brendyn was flown to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville with critical head and neck injuries and died Wednesday night.
