20 positions will be cut at Bell County Schools

MIDDLESBORO, Ky (WYMT/Middlesboro Daily News) - 20 positions throughout the Bell County school district will be cut.

The Middlesboro Daily News reports the move was approved by the county board of education during a meeting on Tuesday.

The policy also abolishes the safe schools and day treatment programs.

Meanwhile, the board decided to on a uniform equation to calculate the salary for school principals.

The paper reports a few principals will see an increase in salary with the equation, while a few will see a decrease.
