Excitement filled the air at Forest Bowling Lanes as five hundred children received a Christmas they may not otherwise have had.

"We give the children a wrapped gift, a new pair of shoes, 5 pairs of socks, we give them candies and children's books." says Southeast Kentucky Stocking Fund President Joe Caldwell.

There were even a few luck kids to win brand new bikes and although the gifts were great, for most kids, the best part of the day was the free bowling.

"My favorite part of the day is where I get to bowl and spending time with my family." says Joshua Brandenburg.

For Michael Barnhill, it was the first time he had picked up a bowling ball

"It is awesome. I hit seven of the pins the first time." Barnhill says.

Bowling wasn't they only thing these kids had in common, they also appreciate the generosity from all those that made the event possible.

"Thank you for this big opportunity because it gives us the opportunity to have fun." says Maddison Burt.

"I want to say thank you for all the things they've done for us and giving us presents and letting us bowl for free." says Max Burt.

"Thank you a lot for everything you've done for us and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas." adds Barnhill.

A Merry Christmas these kids will have thanks to the Southeast Kentucky Empty Stocking Fund.
