Three northern Va. residents in W.Va. plane crash

DAVIS, W.Va. (AP) - Three northern Virginia residents remain hospitalized a day after their small plane crashed at a Tucker County airstrip.

The cause of the crash remains unknown. State Police Cpl. M.A. Roy in Parsons says witnesses report the single-engine Cessna touched down but ran out of room. The pilot tried to pull back up and the plane clipped the tops of trees.

Roy identified the pilot as 46-year-old Waseem Haider of Great Falls, Va. The passengers were 48-year-old Shujjat Rathore of McLean, Va., and 46-year-old Muhammad Paracha of Great Falls, Va.

Ruby Memorial Hospital spokeswoman Amy Johns says Rathore was in serious condition Saturday. Haider was in fair condition and Paracha was in good condition.
