Think Pink Luncheon

Women in Floyd County were thinking pink today at a breast cancer luncheon.

Chamber of Commerce officials wanted to inform the women of their community about the risk factors and symptoms of the disease. Cancer officials say breast cancer is becoming more treatable as women learn more about their risks.

Becky Simpson with the Kentucky Cancer Program says, "It's not a death threat anymore if you get screened. We're having women live longer because they were aware of they bodies or the mammogram caught it."

Simpson says Floyd County's most prevalent cancer is lung cancer.
