The September 11th attacks also changed the lives of our service men and women, many of whom are now fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

WYMT's Angela Sparkman talked to some serving in Iraq right now, who say they're fighting overseas now because of that day.

Troops thousands of miles away, where it's not always safe, in a life they chose.

These young men were mostly in middle or high school five years ago, but they say events of September 11th, 2001 changed their future and brought them to their present life.

Now they've left their family and friends and the comforts of home to fight for freedom in a war on terror.

Their job is guarding base, but the young men say it's not the only thing they do...

They still have fears and a sense of humor.

These young servicemen say they have no regrets and they are hoping to help make the world a better place.
