The report confirms the plane hit a mountain near Shelby Gap causing it to crash, killing the pilot, 35 year old Rush Bradford of North Carolina. The report does not say what caused the plane to hit the mountain.

The report also says the flight was headed for Big Sandy Regional Airport in Prestonsburg.
