Several Eastern Kentucky hospitals will be expanding their services.
Officials from the State Division of Certificate of Need announced approval and denial of requests. Marymount Hospital was approved for relocation and adding more than 50 beds at an estimated cost of nearly 150 million dollars. Hazard ARH in Perry County was approved to add 50 beds and Kentucky River Medical Center in Breathitt County was approved for a 25 bed addition.
Harlan ARH was approved for a converting 10 beds to psychiatric use while Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin was approved for a 10 bed addition for psychiatric use. Baptist Regional was also denied approval for a 20 bed addition for rehabilitation purposes.
