Updated: Wed 12:34 AM, Sep 27, 2006

New information about the former Johnson County Constable who was found dead in his home and police say he was murdered.

68-year-old James Mollette was facing drug charges at the time of his death.

Police say Mollette's girlfriend called police just before 11pm Monday night after she found him dead in his Johnson County home.

Police say when they found Mollette he had a gunshot wound and his throat had been slashed.

Earlier this month we reported that police arrested Mollette on multiple drug-related charges.

Sergeant Tom Wyatt of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office says Molletee was out on bond at the time of his death, but an indictment was pending.

Police say they don't have any suspects.

If you have any information about the murder you should call state police.
