An escaped inmate of the Whitley County Jail has been arrested after being on the run less than a day.
Corbin Police tell us Douglas Shepherd escaped from jail personnel Tuesday afternoon at the Whitley County Courthouse, and was captured earlier Wednesday when a homeowner in the Moore Hill Area of neighboring Knox County detained him until police could arrive.
Shepherd was originally in jail after police say he led them on a chase through two counties earlier this month.
