Gas prices are falling after booming prices over the summer, but how low are they going to get?
Gas for $1.99 a gallon? It may sound hard to believe, but at one gas station in Breathitt County, that's exactly how much it is.
"I am so excited about it. It’s finally under 2 dollars again. I can finally go to school and work, which is 20 miles from my house both ways," said Stephanie Barnett.
As the prices drop, the cars start to line up for the savings. Triple A is reporting the average price in Kentucky is $2.13 which is one of the lowest in the nation.
"I'm very excited about the $1.99. I'll be even more excited if it will go down to $1.50 or something," said Amanda Harrison.
Triple A says the national average is $2.35 and there could be hope for even lower prices at the pump in the future. Triple A also says drivers should visit gas stations with lower pump prices to help keep the prices down in the area.
Triple A is also reporting the average price of gas in Kentucky has dropped 60 cents since this time last year.
