Two people have been arrested and charged with the murder of a former Eastern Kentucky constable.
Police say 21 year old Tommy Baldridge and 23 year old Chris Fairchild killed former Johnson County Constable James Mollette during a robbery Monday night.
Officers say one suspect, Chris Fairchild, had a history of robberies, including a violent one a few years ago, but police say Monday's robbery ended in murder. Now the two suspects, Chris Fairchild and Tommy Baldridge, are behind bars charged with murder and robbery.
Police aren't saying what the motive was, but they are saying what they believe happened afterwards. They say the men took Mollette's ATV to leave the scene.
Fairchild and Baldridge are being held in the Big Sandy Detention Center on a million dollar cash bond. They are expected in court next week.
