Pikeville Public Library Holds Reading Festival

The Pike County Public Library held its Fourth Annual Fall Festival of Authors and Folk Artists Saturday.

The entertainment was for both young and old as children and adult authors were at the library. Authors came to talk to fans about their books and folk artists performed for the crowd.

This year there were 25 local and regional authors participating.

"Wanting to recognize the local authors and artists throughout not only Pike County, but the surrounding counties as well," said Charlene Hopkins, Chairman of the festival.

Hopkins says the festival is a good way to promote reading at an early age.

The Fall Festival is the third Saturday of October every year at the Pikeville Public Library.
