Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE) Officer's Thomas Gearheart and Dennis Hutchinson seized approximately 100 prescription pain pills on a traffic stop conducted in Floyd County.
In recent months, KVE Officers have received numerous complaints from the public about drug trafficking that occurs at the parking lot of the Lackey Mi-Dee Mart. Officers acting on a tip from the public went to investigate and found two men selling various prescription pain pills from there vehicle.
Charles S. Goodman and Rodney Bentley from Garrett, KY where arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st, trafficking in a controlled substance 3rd, trafficking in a legend drug, public intoxication, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The street value of the prescription pills is estimated at $1,000.00.
"This seizure shows just how valuable our Vehicle Enforcement Officers are," said KVE Commissioner Greg Howard. "Our officers are highly trained experts in all areas of law enforcement, an even more so in areas like stopping the drug traffic through our state."
The driver and passenger were lodged in the Floyd Co. Detention center on a $100,000.00 cash bond.
