Members of the Harlan Independent School Board say they want to start giving money back immediately to students covered by a new contract with the county schools.
The two school systems recently agreed that a certain amount of county students could get state and federal funding and not have to pay tuition if going to the Harlan City School System.
The Harlan Independent superintendent says his school system will start reimbursing some students for tuition already paid within a couple of weeks. County school board members say they still have some questions about the agreement.
"There just seems to be some misunderstanding. They think one thing and we think something else. We just need to sit down and iron that out," said Harlan County School Board Member Arlene Brown.
A couple county school board members plan to meet with the city school system to work out the details.
