A warning from the Perry County Court Clerk, pay your delinquent property taxes now before someone else decides to.
County Clerk Haven King says a company in Lincoln Nebraska has copies of delinquent taxes for 2003, 2004, and 2005. King says if the company decided to pay those bills, they will put a lien on the property.
"You'll have to pay him, the law says, 12 percent per year. You'll also have to pay the fees he incurs on that," King said.
King says he doesn't know if or when the company will pay any of the bills, but he said there are more than 17 hundred delinquent taxes for 2005 alone. King says it's happened before in Perry County and other Kentucky counties, but he's never seen an interest of this magnitude.
