Veteran's Day is coming up this weekend, but some Pike County teens started honoring veterans Thursday.
The Pike County Central High School Band hosted a Veteran's Day ceremony in the Pikeville City Park Thursday afternoon. Hundreds gathered to pay tribute to the veterans and our nation's freedom. The students say they organized this because they wanted the veterans to get the credit they deserve.
"There are so many people that have served. Service is an important part of life in any area and service to our country is an amazing thing and very noble to support the veteran's of our community," said Pike County Central Band Director Matt Moon.
State Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott was the featured speaker at the event.
