Day three of the Edward Morton trial continued in Letcher County Wednesday.
Morton, the father of three triplets, is charged in connection with the 2004 death of his three month old daughter Hailey, and injuries to his son Hayden. Wednesday, the Commonwealth's Attorney tried to show what happened that night in 2004.
"Blunt force injury. I can't go further than that. As far as I don't know what implement caused it. I know there was enough force to fracture her skull," said Dr. Greg Davis who performed the autopsy.
"He said while I had her in my arms, she kicked real hard, hit on the couch, bounced on the couch, and then hit the coffee table," said Det. Randy Combs with the Kentucky State Police.
Morton's lawyers say that they feel several mistakes by the state police, and a letter written by the children's mother will show their client is not guilty.
