It's a multi-million dollar grant that will allow a local health center to promote more usage of several cancer prevention drugs.
The Rural Cancer Prevention Center will be based out of the Center for Rural Health in Hazard and will service 23 counties.
The community liaison research coordinator says this grant will help promote vaccines for several different types of cancer.
Officials say the availability of Gardasil, the current vaccine for cervical cancer, is very low in this area.
They hope the grant will change that.
