New Allegations Looked Into As Part Of Knott County Audit

There were some visitors from Frankfort at the Knott County courthouse Thursday.

A spokesman with the state auditor's office tells Mountain News that officials were there as part of an annual audit of the Knott County government.

However, he says they are also looking into recent allegations that include public employees being used to pave private roads.

Judge Executive Randy Thompson says he did nothing wrong and says the allegations have been stirred up by quote "sore losers in the recent election."
