Christmas Comes Early To Some Eastern Kentucky Students

The holidays are a time of giving for many across the nation, but Christmas came early for students at some Eastern Kentucky elementary schools, or at least Story Book Christmas.

225 high school students volunteered to act out storybook favorites for more than 1500 Corbin Elementary School students.

Senior Laura Cleary says she remembers Story Book Christmas when she was a first grader and loved it so much she's volunteered the past four years.

"I love doing creative things like this. I thought it would be a fun way to help kids to be interested in reading," Cleary said.

The only charge, each student had to donate a new children's book. The books will then be donated to area kids.
