Winter weather showed up Friday and help for heating your home may be on the way.
LI-HEAP is the low-income home energy assistance program that helps
thousands of Kentuckians during the cold weather season. New guidelines could make more people eligible for the program.
"We increased the percent of poverty up from 110% to 130%, so there's actually more people eligible. The state is concentrating more on what we call the working poor," said Rick Baker with LKLP.
Baker says to call the community action office in your county to schedule an appointment. Application deadline is December 15th.
