Officials say the case against a former southern Kentucky police officer is ready to go before a grand jury.
The Whitley County Commonwealth's Attorney's office conducted a three month investigation against former Williamsburg police officer Brad Nighbert.
Nighbert crashed his cruiser into another car back in April, injuring both the other driver and himself.
Drug tests after the accident showed Nighbert had both cocaine and oxycodone in his system.
He resigned from the police force back in August.
Officials expect the case to go before the grand jury within the next couple of days.
