A very famous plane that draws thousands of people to the mountains every year will be out of town for a few months.
A spokesman at the P-38 Museum in Middlesboro says the fighter plane, also known as "Glacier Girl", has left Middlesboro for California. It is undergoing some repairs.
The plane took flight again in 2002 after it was recovered from a polar ice cap and restored. The museum spokesman says the plane should return to Middlesboro by spring.
