Police say he kidnapped a woman and sexually abused her, and then he did it again to an even younger victim. Police caught Matthew Casey Thursday night in Pike County. Friday morning he entered a not guilty plea in court.
Police say the West Virginia woman told them she was in her car in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Williamson when Casey approached her. She says he then got in her car and kidnapped her. She says he took her to a mountain and raped her and then says she escaped and called police.
Both Kentucky and West Virginia police were hunting for Casey when they say West Virginia officers found him headed back towards Kentucky. Officers say he hit two police cruisers before they stopped him in Williamson and say that's when they found another alleged victim.
"After making the arrest at the traffic stop, it was discovered there was a five year old female in the vehicle with Matthew Casey. Information and investigation revealed at that time, the five year old girl had been abducted from her parents and also been sexually assaulted," said Trooper. Scott Hopkins with the Kentucky State Police.
Police are not releasing either victim's name because they were allegedly sexually assaulted. Police say Casey is being held under a one million dollar bond and is charged with kidnapping, sodomy, rape and robbery. Police say those charges are just from the woman allegedly kidnapped from the Wal-Mart parking lot. More charges are pending from the five year old girl's case.
