With a big vote behind them, many Eastern Kentucky workers can now enjoy the holidays.
Over two hundred workers at Truseal Technologies in Barbourville overwhelmingly approved a new contract Friday. Just a week ago, workers rejected another contract from Truseal officials that they said included health insurance costs that were too high. Truseal employees say the agreement came just at the right time.
"Since the United Steelworkers came to this agreement with Truseal, everybody can enjoy their holidays. Everybody's getting their holiday pay and Christmas bonus," said Truseal Employee Gary Bowlin.
Truseal workers now get a holiday break, but will be back on the job in about two weeks under their new contract.
