Johnson County Man Faces New Citations

New citations for a Johnson County man accused of dumping a quarter of a million gallons of raw, untreated sewage into the Big Sandy River over eight months.

56 year old Dave Bowling was given a notice of violation by the state Division of Water, for polluting a Big Sandy tributary, and failing to obtain a permit, treat the material, or report the release of raw sewage.

Officials say Bowling is subject to a civil penalty of up to 25 thousand dollars per day, per violation.

The Franklin Circuit Court has appointed a temporary receiver to take over five waste water treatment plants owned by Bowling's son, Lance.
