Hundreds of people in Eastern Kentucky will have a little more to celebrate Christmas with tonight.

Saturday, volunteers with the Tri-Cities Empty Stocking Fund delivered hundreds of gifts and food baskets to families less fortunate throughout Harlan and Letcher Counties. Many parents say without it, their kids wouldn't get many presents for Christmas.

"I'm just really glad they could do something like this to help out. It makes me happy," said Ryan Sergent.

"It's nice that people care. It's nice for something like that to happen once a year," said Felicia Fields.

Volunteers also gave roses to seniors who live at home alone to remind them that they are loved all through the year.
