STONEY FORK, Ky. (AP) - Five hundred trees will be planted at a former surface mine in Stoney Fork in Bell County.

The planting is scheduled for Friday at the J.W. Resources surface mine.

A news release from the state Energy and Environment Cabinet says students will help plant some 500 native Appalachian hardwood seedlings at the site.
