Christmas away from family can be lonely, but some residents staying at a local homeless shelter say this Christmas, they will look at the positive.

Residents spending Christmas at WestCare Emergency Homeless Shelter say they may not be with their families but they are lucky enough to spend the holidays with friends.

Residents received Christmas dinner and even a holiday party thanks to donations from the community.

"There are so many good hearted people in this area that provide meals, gifts for the children and even us adults. They've made it so nice and comfortable," said James Cooley.
