The joy of Christmas gift giving turns to the headache of gift returning. The day after Christmas is notorious for big sales and bigger lines at customer service desks, as people flock to exchange their gifts.
Well your distant cousin was thoughtful enough to send you a gift again this year, but unfortunately, not the right size or color. So you find yourself back in the stores, doing some more Christmas shopping. It was a call to the post for shoppers across the country, racing to the registers to exchange those carefully thought out Christmas gifts.
"It's been crowded. Stores are hectic today. I've been to three or four stores and couldn't get through. It's just awful," said William Herald.
And while some come out in droves for the exchanges, others are still in that true giving spirit.
"I'll spend it man, if I don't spend it right now, I'll spend it, I'll blow it. That's the way I am with it," said Bobby Cook.
As stores offer customers sale, after sale, after sale, extending that holiday joy for some just a little bit longer.
"Day after Christmas, and she got some money, so we're going shopping," said April Decker.
"They love to come shopping, so I thought I'd bring them out today," said Veda Wooten.
Many store managers say these sales should last through the end of the year, so certainly just make sure you find what you're looking for.
