The state medical examiner is trying to identify skeletal remains found in Floyd County.
Police say they're using dental records in hopes of finding a match to a missing person. Officers won't release the exact location where the bones were found, but say they're still investigating how they got there. Police believe the remains are a woman, who might have been murdered. They're looking at unsolved cases for any answers.
"Going into cold cases and seeing if there's a possibility these will reflect part of the investigation," said Trooper Ralph Lockard with the Kentucky State Police.
Investigators say they're looking at missing person cases from all over the state and some out of state.
