The flood waters are beginning to slowly recede across most of Eastern Kentucky and the snow showers are coming to an end. Roads will remain slick tonight as temperatures drop below zero. A long-time superintendent in Knox County is being honored with a trust fund set up by his family.
The Jim Harve Hampton scholarship fund will award an annual scholarship to a senior at Knox Central or Lynn Camp High School.
Hampton was superintendent from 1974 to 1995.
He died in Cctober.
In recognition of this new scholarship fund and the many years of service provided by the former superintendent, the Knox County School District is establishing a link on the District website. Featured will be photos from Mr. Hampton's life and career, as well as comments from his friends who are being invited to submit entries. That website address is www.knox.kyschools.us.
