Teacher Resigns After Allegedly Sending Inappropriate E-Mails To Student

A Pike County teacher has resigned after school officials say he sent inappropriate emails to a student.

The school board attorney says the Shelby Valley J.R.O.T.C. teacher sent alleged "romantic emails" to a female student. He says the girl's parents found the emails and turned them in to the board. Officials say they confronted the teacher and he admitted he wrote them and then he resigned. Officials say no other action is being taken because he resigned.

Officials are not releasing any names because of privacy regulations.
