Many people throughout Eastern Kentucky are getting help paying for prescriptions through a new discount card.
In Harlan County, hundreds of people have been lining up to pick up a card. It's distributed through participating county governments and anyone of any age is eligible for the program. The card is free and designed to cover up to twenty percent of medications not covered by insurance. Many people say they sometimes can't take their medicine because the costs.
"It definitely gets expensive and sometimes you go without it if it's not as important," said Tara Moore.
Call your local county judge executive's office or health department to find out if your county is participating and how you can get a card.
