Rescue crews continue to search along a creek in Breathitt County for the body of a woman they say was murdered in Magoffin County. Rescuers are narrowing their search to an area of interest along Quicksand Creek, close to where they found a blanket they think 28 year old Brandy Rowe may have been wrapped up in.
"There have been three people charged already in this case," Trooper Tony Watts with the Kentucky State Police.
Police already have people in jail in connection with the murder of Brandy Rowe, but rescue crews are still searching for her body.
"We're very optimistic. We're hopeful that we'll find it," Trooper Watts said.
Teams are searching both land and water near Quicksand Creek after family members say a blanket was found on a bridge Friday. They say it may have been wrapped around Rowe's body.
"We searched here with the Kentucky Search Dog Association with their dogs," said Trooper Watts.
Teams moved the search into Breathitt County Thursday night and now say they're narrowing the search to a spot in the creek.
"It's a tragic and stressful time for this family," Trooper Watts said.
No new evidence has been found so far Saturday, but Rowe's family and search teams say they won't give up this search.
"We're going to do everything that the state police can," Trooper Watts said.
Crews say they plan to search until dark Saturday night. While they have been looking for a week, they say they still hold out hope that they can bring her body home.
The three people charged in connection with Rowe's death are scheduled for an arraignment in court on Monday. We will continue to follow this investigation as it develops.
