A unique bachelor's degree will now be available in Hazard with the addition of a sixth college to the University Center of the Mountains.
Midway College is now officially part of U.C.M.
With the new school, four accelerated bachelor degree programs will now be offered, including health care administration, organizational management and additional teacher education certifications. Officials say they're also bringing one of the first degrees of it's kind in the nation.
"We're offering a bachelor of science degree in Homeland Security Assessment. We believe it's the first of it's kind in the nation," said Midway College President William B. Drake.
Students who enroll in Midway College degree programs will be eligible for full time state and federal financial aid programs.
