A Harlan County coal miner is recovering after an electrical accident in a mine near Cumberland.
Police say it happened Saturday afternoon at the Panther Mine in the Cloverlick area of Harlan County. Officials say 24 year old Christopher Miles of Cumberland was shocked while working underground.
MSHA officials are on scene and investigating the cause of the accident. At this time no other information has been released.
We spoke with family members Saturday evening and they say Miles is currently in stable condition at a hospital in Johnson City Tennessee. Doctors are still conducting tests to determine if there is any internal damage. Right now they say Miles is awake and able to talk.
