For dozens of college students across Eastern Kentucky, it's been a weekend of achievement.
More than a hundred students are being awarded bachelors or master's degrees in professional counseling. The program is a partnership between Lindsey Wilson College and community colleges throughout Eastern Kentucky. Some students graduating from the Hazard Community and Technical College say the journey is about more than just getting a job.
"We're graduating and we're all so excited to be here. This is the best group of people to work for and work with," said graduate Suzanne Madden.
"It's such an honor to graduate! I got to stay at home and get bachelors degree. This is awesome," said Tracy Riley.
Many students say they hope to stay in Eastern Kentucky to use their degrees.
